World Languages

The World Languages Department courses foster curiosity, confidence, and cultural understanding through the study of French, Latin, and Spanish. We believe that learning another language is more than acquiring vocabulary and grammar; it is an invitation to see the world from new perspectives and to engage thoughtfully with people, cultures, and ideas perhaps beyond one’s own lived experience.

.
Across all three languages, our classrooms are lively, collaborative spaces where students are challenged to take intellectual risks and learn from mistakes. The close-knit environment of an all-girls boarding school allows students to develop their voices as communicators and to support one another as learners.

Ultimately, the World Languages Department prepares students not simply to know another language, but to become more perceptive, empathetic, and globally minded citizens who can communicate across cultural boundaries and approach the world with curiosity and confidence.

Our students have the opportunity to travel abroad as part of our Global Travel programs, offering language immersion opportunities.
